With the Heavenly Fire Ceremony Event, Evony has designed Sigurd, a semi-legendary Viking warrior and Danish king, into an excellent ranged-troop general. Currently, this general is only available during this event. More information about General Sigurd and how to use him can be found below.
Sigurd’s Background Story
In the icy Nordic seas stands a legendary Viking, Sigurd. With the blood of the heroic Ragnar flowing through him, and a serpent-shaped birthmark in his eye, he earned the name “Snake-in-the-Eye.”
Growing up under his family’s glory, Sigurd bore an exceptional destiny. When his brothers were slain by the Swedish king, a fire of vengeance ignited in his heart. By leading his Viking warriors, Sigurd avenged his family’s honor. His father’s fall fueled his fury, driving him like a storm across England. There, Sigurd conquered with both force and wisdom, solidifying his reign and earning a name of fear and reverence.
Sigurd’s leadership brought countless victories, and with courage and intellect, he penned an epic of family, vengeance, and conquest in the 9th-century Nordic world.

Recommended Combinations of Sigurd
Sigurd is the best archer assistant general at the moment, I think. Because even without ascending buffs, his overall attributes are still very high.
Through experiments, among the latest archer generals, Sigurd’s special skill conflicts with the special skills of Merlin, Mihai, and Godfrey of Bouillon. So they cannot be partners.
The combinations in the table below are what I recommend. I counted the highest effective bonuses of these combinations in ranged troop attack, defense, and HP, as well as march size buffs. Different combinations have different advantages, and we can decide how to match them ourselves. I prefer to use Sigurd as assistant general because this general is difficult to get, and it may be too costly to train him into a main general. However, there is also a good solution – “Soul Binding”.
Main General | Assistant General | Ranged Troop Attack | Ranged Troop Defense | Ranged Troop HP | March Size Capacity |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Ragnar | Sigurd | +325% | +225% | +225% | +22% |
Marcus Agrippa | +300% | +250% | +185% | +16% | |
Douglas | +281% | +200% | +180% | +24% | |
Sigurd | Edward III | +273% | +133% | +158% | +18% |
Sigurd | Charles XII | +288% | +148% | +143% | +28% |
Charles XII | Sigurd | +260% | +205% | +150% | +24% |
All of the above combinations can use the “Lv4 Ranged Troop Attack” Skill Book. Besides, we can use Lv4 skill books like Lv4 Ranged Troop Defense and HP, Ranged Troop Range Bonus, and March Size.
