With the opening of Evony’s 2024 Double Ninth Festival event, many new contents have come into our sight. They include the Great Expedition event, two new generals from China, Ideal Land ornament – Yellow Crane Tower, Maplewood Castle, and corresponding collection buffs. This article introduces information about each new thing and its acquisition methods as comprehensively as possible. Among them, the gameplay guide of Great Expedition is emphasized. We hope it will be helpful to the majority of enthusiasts.
Great Expedition
This time, Evony releases a new event, Great Expedition. We can earn 30 days of experience for some rare castle skins and many must-have items. Here is the guide to playing the Great Expedition.
Rules：
- First, get dice through daily activity quests and packages.
- Daily activity 20 – Expedition Dice * 1
- Daily activity 50 – Expedition Dice * 2
- Daily activity 110 – Expedition Dice * 3
- Great Expedition Package – Expedition Dice * 5
- Super Great Expedition Package – Expedition Dice *50 & Magic Dice *1. (Use Magic Dice to specify the number of points.)
- Then, roll the dice and move forward steps equal to the number of dice thrown.When we advance to a treasure spot, we can claim the corresponding reward.When we reach the same treasure spot again, the level of the spot will be upgraded. The higher the level, the better the rewards.Click the treasure spot grid on the map to view the current rewards of the spot and the next-level rewards.
- After completing a lap of exploration, the levels of 5 treasure spots will be randomly upgraded.
- Also, we can claim additional rewards after completing 1, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, and 200 laps. Click the reward box in the upper left corner of the Great Expedition interface to view the specific rewards.
- Besides, there are some special grids, for example:
- ‘?’ – Trigger random events – including getting a magic dice, moving forward 1 to 3 steps, moving back 1 to 3 steps, rolling again, next step * 2, and next rewards * 2
- ‘Roll Again’ – Earn a free roll chance.
- ‘Shortcut Route’ – 8 grids less than the original route, we can complete a lap faster.
Note:
After the event ends, unused expedition medals will be converted into expedition chests.
The remaining expedition dice will become exploration chests.

Treasure Spot Rewards
Treasure spots on the explore map contain expedition medals、speed ups, gold, runestone chests, safe resource chests, refining stones, treasure boxes, and the blood of Ares.
Chest Rewards
In addition to treasure spot rewards, there are also treasure chest rewards on the map – 3 medal chests, 1 uncommon chest, and 1 legendary chest.
By collecting and opening these treasure chests, we will not only have the chance to obtain common important items but also the possibility of obtaining dice and a large number of expedition medals.

Expedition Trial Rewards
Complete quests to get points and upgrade the level, or we can directly purchase the next level using gems.
The quests include daily activity reach and dice roll.
Buy privileges to improve the trial rewards.
In Expedition Trial, we can get some rare items, such as Revival Stone, Adv 1 Hour HP/Defense/Attack Increase, 3-day Truce Agreement, and Epic Historic General Fragment (Premium).
Privilege rewards also include Expedition Dice, Magic Dice, Epic Historic General (Premium), Source of Life, Lv4 Skill Bool Chest, Adv Troop March Speedup, etc.
New General Cheng Yaojin & Liu Bei
Cheng Yaojin
When Cheng Yaojin is leading the army, his original special skill can increase mounted troops’ attack by 45% and increase ground troops and mounted troops’ defense and HP by 35%.
we can get this general from the Historic General Summoning during 2024 Evony’s Double Ninth Festival Event. Alternatively, using epic general tokens, we also have a chance to obtain this general.
Liu Bei
When Liu Bei is the Barracks Officer, his initial special skill will increase ground troops’ attack, defense, and HP by 15% and reduce enemy ranged troops and siege machines’ defense and HP by 10%.
During the 2024 Double Ninth Festival, we will receive this general from the King’s Party event at Party Cake Lv10.
Decoration Collection – Sword in Maplewood
Collect one of the Maplewood Castle and the Crimson Maple Swordsmen march effect to activate the Sword in the Maplewood Decoration Collection.
The buffs of ‘Sword in Maplewood’:
- Marching ground troop defense +5%
- March speed +5%
We can get a Maplewood Castle (Crimson or Golden) at this round of King’s Party when our cake reaches Lv10, and receive the Crimson Maple Swordsmen march effect from the Decoration Collection Package.

We can get this Ideal Land ornament at the Voyage to Civilizations event.
Yellow Crane Tower has both buffs and debuffs. The higher the level, the more attributes and the higher the value. Upgrading requires the corresponding number of extra Yellow Crane Towers.
